POLICE QUESTION THREE MORE IN HOTEL BOMBING PROBE

Jakarta-RRI-Online,
Indonesian police are questioning three more men in connection with last year's deadly car bombing of a Jakarta hotel, a police spokesman said on Friday. The three were arrested in the Central Java city of Surakarta on July 26 by Indonesia's Special Detachment 88 anti-terrorist squad, which is trained and equipped by the United States, Brig. Gen. Sunarko Danu Ardanto told AFP.

He identified the three as Air Setyawan, Luthfi Haidaroh and Urwah. The extent of their alleged involvement is being further probed, Ardanto said.

The Aug. 5, 2003, bombing at the U.S.-operated JW Marriott hotel killed 11 Indonesians and a Dutch banker.

Several other people are on trial or have been jailed for the bombing.

Police blame the al-Qaeda-linked Jamaah Islamiyah regional extremist group for numerous attacks including the Marriott blast and the October 2002 Bali nightclub bombings which killed 202 people.

Two Malaysians, Noordin Mohammad Top and Azahari Husin, are still being hunted for their roles in both the Bali and Marriott attacks.Jp/Dp
